This is a blog we didn’t want to do. Although he is better known as a player with the Exops and Mets, Gary Carter, and his smile, were with the Giants in 1990 when he became the All-Time National League leader in games caught. We think the first line of his Hall of Fame plaque sums him up perfectly: “An exuberant on-field general with a signature smile who was known for clutch hitting and rock-solid defense over 19 seasons.” Once a Giant, Always a Giant – Gary we will miss you.
