Check It Out
There’s a lot to look forward to when it comes to Giants baseball, but when we go to a new ballpark it adds another level of excitement. When the players and broadcaster arrived at the new ballpark in Miami one of the first things they did was look over the new field. Studying the field dimensions and talking with each other about the quirks of the park were the main topics of conversation. Evidently everyone liked what they saw as the Giants scored a season-high 14 runs – Giants 14, Marlins 7.

I’ve seen a lot of negative comments about it but I like the Marlins’ new ballpark. It’s got kind of a quirky “Las Vegas meets Sea World meets Chuck E. Cheese” vibe to it. You gotta admit, that’s just all kinds of awesome.
Great description! And just like Vegas, Sea World and Chuck E. Cheese there’s a lot to take in all at once, so we’re going to be highlighting different aspects of the park in the next 3 after-game blogs. Note: The fish tanks are tonight – including the fish that follows me whenever I walk past him
Part of the stadium fits in well – the bobble head museum – but other sections feel like they try to take away from the game just to get people to come to the stadium – the cleavelander. The point might be to sell tickets – but do you really need a club in the middle of a baseball park? I don’t particularly like the entire stadium – and I live in Miami. :-/
I was going for a glass-half-full comment because I’d seen so much negativity about it. I really do wish I could see the bobble head museum, but I totally agree with you about the club. There are some things that just shouldn’t be put together in a sports arena. Hockey and cheerleaders spring to mind.
Agreed 100%
