TURN BACK THE CLOCK… The Giants and Cubs wore replica uniforms from 1912 today… Some elements from today’s turn back the century game include:
• The scoreboard had a vintage look and videos were not shown.
• There was a roving barber shop quartets outside the gates.
• Giants photographers, ushers, security guards, grounds keepers and other staff wore 1912 era garb.
• Only organ music was played the entire game.

TODAY’S GAME…The San Francisco Giants host the Chicago Cubs in the 2nd game of this 4-game series…Giants’ right-hander Matt Cain (5-2, 2.79) will face Cubs’ right-hander Matt Garza (2-3, 4.22).

CAIN HE GET BACK TO .500?…RHP Matt Cain enters today’s game with a career record of 74-75…with a victory today, Cain will reach the .500 mark in his career win-loss column for the 1st time since May 19, 2007 when he was 17-17.

VOTE MELKY FOR MAY…Cabrera finished the month of May by hitting safely in 25 of 29 games, batting .429 (51-for-119) with 38 runs scored, 7 doubles, 5 triples, 3 home runs and 17 RBI…Cabrera will be a top candidate to win NL Player of the Month for May, which will be announced tomorrow.

HITTING AT HOME…OF Angel Pagan enters today’s game with a 25-game home hit streak, now the longest home hit streak in SF-era history and the 2nd-longest in Giants franchise history (since 1900)…according to Elias, Mike Donlin had a 26 game home hit streak from Aug. 28, 1905 to May 5, 1906…Pagan’s .356 home avg. (37-for-104) is tied for the 6th-best in the NL.

JAVIER LOPEZ… Earned his 1st save of the season last night after stranding 2 runners and recording 2 outs in the 9th inning.

SANTIAGO CASILLA… Had rough outing last night as he recorded just 1 out and allowed 3 hits including a 3-run HR to Alfonso Soriano in the 9th frame…left the game after suffering a knee injury.
