Tonight in Kansas City it was a Giants All Star Game. Matt Cain got the win for the National League in the 8-0 shutout and Pablo Sandoval tripled in the first inning to drive in 3 runs, including Buster Posey. Melky Cabrera didn’t do too badly either. For going 2 for 3 with a home run and driving in 2 runs, he won the Ted Williams MVP Award (ironically enough, the last Giants player to win the award was Bobby Bonds, in 1973, when the game was also held in Kansas City). Congratulations to our great fans who voted in the Stars of the All Star Game!
Earlier today Giants players in the All Star Game took a ride along a 4,129 foot long carpet which ended inside Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza during the Red Carpet Parade. MLB Network’s Greg Amsinger, Harold Reynolds and Alanna Rizzo will host the event’s national telecast at 1:00 p.m. PT and an abbreviated version at 4:30 p.m. PT.
