TONIGHT’S GAME…The San Francisco Giants host the Colorado Rockies in the 1st game of this 4-game series…Giants’ left-hander Madison Bumgarner (14-10, 3.32) will face Rockies’ right-hander Jhoulys Chacin (2-5, 4.86).

BRAD PENNY… Last night he pitched for the 1st time since facing ARI onSept.5… Was reinstated from DL on Sept. 1 after missing 16 games w/ right shoulder impingement.

DAN RUNZLER… 27-year-old missed the 1st 2+ months of the 2012 season with a left latissimus dorsi strain which he aggravated during spring training…originally hurt it in his last regular season game in 2011.

JEAN MACHI… Made his Major League debut Sept 3…since then has made 5 relief appearances, allowing 2 runs in 3.2 innings pitched… Signed by SF to minor lg contract in 2011, was in spring training for 1st time in his career.

DAN OTERO… Has not allowed an inherited runner to score (10 IR in 11.1ip)… Was recalled from triple-A on Sept. 4th and has since made 4 appearances (3.0ip).
