Fan Appreciation Day
As if being a Giants fan isn’t great enough already, the team sweetened the deal today during Fan Appreciation Day by giving guests at AT&T Park today a chance to win a variety of prizes. Winners were picked throughout the game and were able to claim their prizes on the concourse, a lucky fan threw the first pitch, and finally a car was given away on the field after the game. Thanks to all our great fans, we do really appreciate you!

TODAY’S GAME… The San Francisco Giants host the San Diego Padres in the final game of this 3-game series…Giants’ right-hander Yusmeiro Petit (0-0, -.–) will face Padres’ left-hander Eric Stults (6-3, 2.69).

NL WEST CHAMPS… The Giants won the 2012 NL West division for the 8th time since the advent of divisional play began in 1969 (1971, 1987, 1989, 1997, 2000, 2003, 2010, 2012)…it’s the 2nd time in the last 3 seasons that they’ve won the NL West.

HIT STREAKING…IF Marco Scutaro enters today’s game tied with Milwaukee’s Norichika Aoki for the longest hitting streak in the NL, having matched his career-best hit streak at 12 games…during this stretch he’s batting .471 (24-for-51) with 2 2Bs and 11 RBI.

WITH RISP…Prior to the All-Star break, SF batted .225 (174-for-773) with RISP, which ranked 15th of 16th among NL teams…however, since the break, the Giants are hitting .306 (200-for-654) in these situations, the highest clip in the Majors.

JAVIER LOPEZ… Has recorded 6 of the Giants’ last 13 saves and is 7-for-9 overall this year and left-handed batters are 4-for-their-last-26 off him and just 5-for-their-last-40 (.125). Leads the club with 68 appearances this season.
