TODAY’S GAME…The San Francisco Giants visit the Cincinnati Reds in the 5th game and deciding game of this best-of-5 Division Series…Giants’ right-hander Matt Cain (0-1, 5.40) will face Reds’ right-hander Mat Latos (0-0, 2.25).

MATT CAIN… Among the NL leaders, finished 3rd in innings pitched (219.1) and in opponents avg. against (.222), 4th in ERA (2.79) and winning pct. (.762, 16-5), tied for 6th in wins and 8th in strikeouts (193).

THE GIANTS…forced a Game 5 and avoided elimination from the postseason for the 2nd-straight day with an 8-3 victory in Game 4 of this best-of-5 Division Series yesterday.

PABLO SANDOVAL… Joined Buck Herzog (1912), Matt Williams (1989) and Juan Uribe (2010) as the only Giants 3rd baseman with 3 RBI in a postseason game.

JOAQUIN ARIAS… 28-year-old is on his 1st career postseason roster… Went 2-for-3 with 2 runs and 2 2Bs yesterday and is 3-for-6 with 3 runs scored in this series.

ANGEL PAGAN… Finished yesterday’s game going 2×3 with 2 runs, 2B, HR, 2 RBI…became 1st Giants CF with 2 hits, HR, 2 RBI in postseason game since Willie Mays.
