WS Game 2 – Quick Hits
TONIGHT’S GAME…The San Francisco Giants host the Detroit Tigers in the 2nd Game of the 108th World Series…Giants’ left-hander Madison Bumgarner (0-2, 11.25) will face Tigers’ right-hander Doug Fister (0-0, 1.35).

MADISON BUMGARNER… Became the 4th-youngest starter to win a World Series game as the Giants won Game 4 at Texas with a 4-0 shutout…only one starting pitcher younger than Bumgarner ever tossed 8.0-shutout innings in a World Series game – Jim Palmer, who was 100 days younger, in Game 2 of the 1966 World Series.
Check out today’s complete game notes, which contain more stats than boogie woogie fiddles.

JAVIER LOPEZ… Has made 5 appearances this postseason, tossing 3.0-scoreless innings… Since joining the Giants, lefties are just 1-for-20 (.050) off him in the postseason… Has two World Series rings, winning it all with the Boston Red Sox in 2007 and the San Francisco Giants in 2010.

MARCO SCUTARO… went 2-for-4 with 2 RBI last night and is now 16-for-32 (.500) at the plate since Game 1 of the LCS…he also enters tonight’s game with an 11-game postseason hitting streak, tied for the longest in Giants franchise history with Irish Meusel.

ANOTHER FIRST… Pablo Sandoval became the 1st player to hit home runs in each of his 1st 3 plate appearances in a World Series game and the 1st to hit 3 home runs in Game 1 of any postseason series (Elias).
