Tim Lincecum
As we count down to Opening Day we would like to highlight some of the players and coaches we will be cheering on during the 2013 season. Be sure to check out our 2013 Media Guide for more tidbits about our players and coaches.
- Is the first player to win a Cy Young Award twice in his first two full seasons in the Majors
- Is the Giants franchise leader for wins in a single postseason with four, set in 2010
- Is the Giants franchise record holder for number of games pitched with 10+ strikeouts – 32
- Is the fifth quickest Giant to reach the Majors following baseball’s June draft (334 days)
- The normal stride length for a pitcher is 77% to 87% of his height. Tim’s stride is 129%, or roughly 7 1⁄2 feet.
- He’s a natural athlete who can do standing back flips and walk on his hands. He jumps onto the outfield wall when he’s shagging flies during batting practice “as if he’s trying to make the highlight reel for ESPN,’’ says Giants manager Bruce Bochy.
