TONIGHT’S GAME… The San Francisco Giants host the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight in the first game of this four game series and seven game homestand that also features the Colorado Rockies from Monday-Wednesday… RHP Trevor Cahill (5-10, 4.39) is slated to face  RHP Ryan Vogelsong (3-4, 5.49) in tonight’s matchup.

HOMER HAPPY…Pablo Sandoval (three home runs), Brandon Crawford (one), Hunter Pence (one) and Hector Sanchez (one) all homered for the Giants yesterday…the six home runs for SF marked the most they’ve hit in a game since Sept. 18, 2011 at Colorado, when Sandoval (two), Mike Fontenot (one), Brandon Belt (one), Crawford (one) and Matt Cain (one), all combined for six in that game.

SANDOVAL JOINS ELITE COMPANY…By hitting three home runs yesterday, Sandoval
joined an exclusive list…he became just the sixth player in MLB history to have a three-
homer game in both the regular and postseason in his career…he joins Albert Pujols, Adrian Beltre and Hall of Famers Babe Ruth, George Brett and Reggie Jackson.

MORE ON PABLO…Sandoval became the second player to hit three homers in a game at Petco Park (regular or postseason), joining Ryan Braun, who hit three on April 30 last season…he was the first Giants player to have a three-plus homer game in the regular season since Aubrey Huff hit three against the Cardinals at Busch on June 2, 2011.

ACCORDING TO ELIAS…Sandoval is the €first reigning World Series Most Valuable Player to hit three home runs in a game the following season (World Series MVP has been awarded since 1955).

HERE’S MORE, WHY NOT…Sandoval is the sixth Giants player with multiple three-plus
homer games in the regular or postseason, joining Barry Bonds, Willie Mays, Willie McCovey, George Kelly and Dusty Rhodes.

ABOUT YESTERDAY… e Giants defeated the Padres by a 13-5 count yesterday at Petco Park… SF became just the third visiting team to score at least 13 runs at Petco…the Braves scored 15 in 2006 and the Mariners plated 14 in 2005.
