HUDSON’S GIANTS DEBUT… RHP Tim Hudson struck out seven batters and did not allow a run in 7.2 innings in his Giants debut last night…prior to Hudson, no Giants pitcher had that many strikeouts without allowing a run in his team debut since Juan Marichal threw a one-hit shutout and fanned 12 Phillies batters in his Major League debut on July 19, 1960 (Elias).

MORE ON HUDSON… With his victory last night Hudson is now the active wins leader with 206 career victories…his win broke a tie with the Yankees’ C.C. Sabathia for the most by an active Major League pitcher.

JAVIER LOPEZ… Completed his third season with SF last year and had one of his best campaigns, going 4-2 with a career-best 1.83 ERA in a team-high 69 relief appearances.

SERGIO ROMO… Recorded his second save of the season last night, as he tossed a perfect 9th inning.
