WHAT’S LEFT?… The Giants have just seven games remaining (3 at LA, 4 vs. SD), while the Pirates begin a seven-game road trip tonight with four games at Atlanta and three at Cincinnati…the Brewers are wrapping up a nine-game road trip with a three-game set at Cincinnati starting tonight, then end the season with a three-game series vs. Chicago-NL.

ON THE MOUND TONIGHT… RHP Jake Peavy (6-4, 2.16) will try to end the Giants’ three-game skid by winning a career-high fifth consecutive start tonight…Peavy has been the best pitcher in the Majors over the last month and a half (beginning Aug. 13), going 6-1 with a 1.13 ERA (6er, 48.0ip) in his past seven starts…Peavy has gone 7-1 with a 2.85 ERA (26er, 82.0ip) in 13 career starts here at Dodger Stadium.

POSEY HITTING OVER .350 ON THE ROAD… C Buster Posey leads the Majors with a .354 (92-for-260) batting average on the road this season…he’s hit .444 (28-for-63) with ! ve home runs and 13 RBI in his past 16 road games… there have been just four Giants in SF-era history (since 1958) to hit over .350 on the road: Barry Bonds (.386 in 2002 and .359 in 1993), Melky Cabrera (.367 in 2012), Willie Mays (.367 in 1958) and Orlando Cepeda (.351 in 1963).
