WBC – Puerto Rico vs. Dominican Republic – Pregame

All the teams in the 2013 World Baseball Classic were represented in today’s pregame ceremony.  Before the rain began both teams in the championship game carried their country’s flag past the other flags and down the foul lines to the WBC Trophy sitting at home plate.

WBC, Puerto Rico, Japan, AT&T Park, San Francisco, Giants,

Fans have shown up to support all four teams that the World Baseball Classic have hosted at AT&T Park. Flags have been waving, drums have been beaten and its still not over yet.  Today, Puerto Rico faces off against the Dominican Republic in the Championship game to determine the tournament winner.  Tickets are still available and can be purchased here.

The Dominican team celebrates

The Dominican Republic beat the Netherlands tonight 4-1.  The Dominican team scored all four runs in the fifth inning and secured their position in the Championship game against Puerto Rico tomorrow at 5 pm.

BamBam Meulens in Orange and Black and Santiago Casilla in Red, White and Blue highlighted today’s pregame festivities for the second of three World Baseball Classic Games being held at AT&T Park.

WBC, Puerto Rico, Japan, AT&T Park, San Francisco, Giants, Angel Pagan

Angel Pagan celebrates

Puerto Rico defeated Japan 3-1 in tonight’s Semi Final match up.  Both teams drew passionate fans and the Giants’ own Angel Pagan went 2 for 5 for victorious team Puerto Rico.  They will return on Tuesday for the Championship game against the winner of tomorrow night’s game between the Netherlands and Dominican Republic.
