DOUBLE DIGIT LOSSES… Last night marked just the fifth double-digit shut out loss for the Giants by the Dodgers at home…the Giants lost by a score of 10-0 to the Dodgers on July 28, 2012 and also lost an 11-0 game to LA in San Francisco twice: Sept. 12, 1974 and June 21, 1997…the Brooklyn Dodgers beat the New York Giants 10-0 at the Polo Grounds on Oct. 2, 1951.

Glendale, Ariz. – The Giants lost 5-2 to the Chicago White Sox today at The Ballpark at Camelback Ranch. LHP Barry Zito (2-1, 6.61) made his 5th Cactus League start and was touched for 5 runs on 9 hits in just 2.1 innings of work. He allowed back-to-back home runs to A.J. Pierzynski and Alex Rios in the 3rd inning. The Giants’ offense had just 4 hits on the day, including just one through the first 7.0 innings. San Francisco’s 1st run of the game came in the 1st when LF Melky Cabrera drew a 2-out walk, advanced to 3rd on an error and then scored on a wild pitch. RF Chris Dominguez knocked in their only other run with a 2-run run-scoring single in the 8th.
