SCUTARO’S STREAK REACHES 18…IF Marco Scutaro enters today’s game with a season-high 19 game hitting streak, the longest active hit streak in the bigs and the longest hitting streak in the Majors this season…Scutaro is batting .481 (38-for-79) during the streak…his career-best hit streak is 20 games, accomplished last season.

In 1924 the Washington Senators beat the New York Giants in 7 games (the last game went to 12 innings)… Game 5 of the 1933 World Series was won by the Giants and was the last time Washington played World Series host.

CONGRATULATIONS RAGS…Tomorrow, Giants pitching coach Dave Righetti will be inducted into the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame…Righetti played 16 seasons in the Majors, posting an 82-79 record with a 3.46 ERA and 1,112 strikeouts in 718 career games (89 starts)…joining Righetti in the induction ceremony will be Tim Brown (Oakland Raiders), Walter A. Haas Jr. (Oakland Athletics) and Brent Jones (San Francisco 49ers).

Pants Up

In show of team unity, everyone on the field, including Equipment Manger Mike Murphy, wore their pants high today – Barry Zito, Hunter Pence and Brandon Belt were no longer the odd men out when it came to their Giants uniforms.

Busy Day

It was a busy day here at AT&T Park.  Earlier today the Dugout Store at 2nd and King had it’s grand opening, a couple thousand kids participated in the Pony League Parade and Q&A with the Giants, and the Jr. Giants Commissioner’s received awards during the Commissioner’s Meeting – oh yeah, there was also a baseball game.

Headin’ Home

It was a long and cold road trip, but the Giants are headed home for a 6 game homestand.  Starting tomorrow the Padres will be in town, and then the Diamondbacks will be in San Francisco for 3 games starting Monday.

Thousands of fans came to AT&T Park today for the Giants’ annual Fan Fest.  Fans were able get autographs, listen to the players being interviewed for KNBR, ask questions themselves and take pictures with the growing collection of trophies at Pier 48.  Thanks to everyone who came out and enjoyed the day!
