It took a small army of people to get the Giants Clubhouse ready on September 22 to celebrate clinching of the NL West. Anything that can be removed from the room is taken into the back and plastic is used to protect everything else from the Mumm Napa “spray”. Through it all, everyone keeps an eye on the game to make sure everything is ready right after the final out.
Last Tuesday the San Jose Giants began their march towards a 12th California League Championship. On Thursday, August 16 the San Francisco Giants front office staff took advantage of an off day and headed south to catch a San Jose Giants games. A group of 85 staffers watched the Giants’ Class A team take on the Bakersfield Blaze at San Jose Municipal Stadium. There was a tailgate BBQ and some employees were picked to participate in a couple of the between-inning entertainment, the tug of war and a horse race. Unfortunately, the San Jose Giants lost 2-4 but their amazing staff treated us to a memorable and enjoyable day.
This morning our 2012 interns had the opportunity to meet one another and have breakfast with the Giants President and Chief Executive Officer, Larry Baer. We cannot express how valuable our interns are to the organization and we’re thrilled everyone is on board for another great season. Welcome to the Giants!

Since the last Giants game of 2011 the field at AT&T Park has been used to host Cal football, the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl, soccer and a variety of private events. Now that baseball is on its way back, the grounds crew is busy restoring the baseball diamond.
The Giants Community Fund’s signature Jr. Giants Baseball program not only promotes recreation and fitness, but also literacy and education, health and violence prevention.
Community involvement is a top priority within the Giants organization and all employees from the players to the front office staff are expected to give back to their community. Over 350 community related events are held each year, ranging from hospital and school visits to golf tournaments to meet and greets with the players and coaches. These are the Community Fund and Community Relations staffs who dedicate their time to making such events happens and running the Jr. Giants programs.
