CE AT THE PLATE… OF Hunter Pence has a hit in all six games of this World Series, extending his hitting streak in World Series play to nine games, the longest by any Giant in the WS since Alvin Dark in 1951 and 1954 (10 games)…during this nine-game streak, Pence has hit .424 (14×33).

YUSMEIRO PETIT… Became the first reliever to win three games in one postseason in which he pitched at least 3.0 innings and did not permit any runs.

GIANTS IN GAME SEVEN… The Giants are 1-5 all-time when playing Game 7 of a best-of-7 series (1-3 since moving to San Francisco)…the Giants won their most recent Game 7, defeating the Cardinals, 9-0, in the the 2012 NLCS at AT&T Park…SF last played in a World Series Game 7 in 2002, when they lost to the Angels.

WINNER TAKE ALL… The Giants are 18-17 all-time in elimination postseason games…SF has won each of their last seven elimination games, six of which came in 2012 and one this season in the Wild Card game at Pittsburgh…the Giants are 0-4 all-time in winner-take-all World Series games, with three of the four losses by one run.

BRANDON CRAWFORD… Became just the fourth different Giants shortstop (fifth occurrence) to record at least three RBI in a World Series contest in Game 5, joining Al Dark (three RBI in 1951 Game 1); Rich Aurilia (three RBI in 2002 Game 5); and Edgar Renteria (three RBI in 2010 Games 2 and 5).

GREGOR BLANCO… Homered to lead off Game 2, marking the 19th leado! homer in World Series history…his leado! HR was the third leadoff homer in Giants postseason history and the first in the World Series.

PABLO PERFORMS ON BIG STAGE… IF Pablo Sandoval has recorded a team-high 23 hits this postseason, just one shy of his franchise record for a single postseason (24 hits in 2012 postseason)…Sandoval is also just two hits shy of the highest single-season total ever in postseason play, shared by Darin Erstad (2002), David Freese (2011) and Marquis Grissom (1995).

BUMGARNER’S GAME FIVE SHUTOUT… LHP Madison Bumgarner tossed the World Series’ first shutout since Josh Beckett’s series-clincher for the Marlins against the Yankees in Game Six of the 2003 World Series… Bumgarner became the first Giants pitcher to throw a shutout in the Fall Classic since Jack Sanford against the Yankees in 1962…he also joined Christy Mathewson as the only Giants pitchers with multiple shutous in the same postseason.
