TONIGHT’S PITCHING MATCHUP… RHP Ryan Vogelsong (2-2, 3.62) has pitched extremely well over his last  five starts, going 2-1 with a 1.62 ERA (6er, 33.1ip), with the Giants going 4-1 in that span…he’s coming off a 7.0-scoreless inning performance last Sunday versus Miami…RHP Samuel Deduno (1-2, 3.53) has gone 1-1 with a 4.24 ERA in three starts after going from the bullpen to the rotation to replace Mike Pelfrey, who’s on the DL…Deduno’s only appearance against the Giants was 1.0-scoreless inning of relief for San Diego on April 6, 2011.

TOMORROW’S STARTER LAST START… Madison Bumgarner set a franchise record by surrendering three or fewer earned runs in his 18th straight road start, dating back to last June 8, breaking Ed Whitson’s mark (May 11, 1980-May 6, 1981)…pitched 6.0 innings, allowing eight hits but wound up with a no-decision in SF’s 5-4 loss.

FROM ELIAS… OF Hunter Pence scored the second run of the Giants’ three-run 10th inning yesterday in LA…Pence has scored runs in the 10th inning or later in each of the last four extra-inning games he’s played (April 23, May 5, 8, 11)…he’s the€ first Major Leaguer to fashion a streak of that kind since the Cubs’ Alex Gonzalez in 2003 and he’s the€ first Giants player to do so since Jim Ray Hart in 1965.

BELT TO HAVE THUMB SURGERY TOMORROW… IF Brandon Belt, who was placed on the 15-day DL this past Saturday with a broken left thumb, has opted to have surgery tomorrow and will miss six weeks…Belt will have two pins surgically installed in his thumb by Dr. Tim McAdams at the Stanford University Medical Center.

TODAY’S ROSTER MOVE… Prior to tonight’s game the Giants have reinstated LHP David Huff from the 15-day disabled list and have optioned OF Juan Perez to triple-A Fresno.

TONIGHT’S PITCHING MATCHUP… RHP Tim Lincecum (2-2, 5.55) has gone 9-6 with a 2.63 ERA in 15 career starts against the Braves, including a shutout in the 2010 postseason.. he’s been particularly tough against them at home, going 6-2 with a 2.24 ERA in eight starts…RHP Gavin Floyd (0-0, 1.29) will make his second start of the season after opening up 2014 on the DL following Tommy John surgery…Floyd hasn’t faced the Giants since 2008 with the White Sox, but overall is 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA versus SF in two starts.

ANOTHER WALK-OFF… For the second consecutive game, the Giants won last night in walk-off fashion as C Hector Sanchez drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 12th…according to ESPN Stats & Info, it’s the latest walk-off hit by a Giants player against the Dodgers in more than 10 years, and Sanchez became just the fifth Giant in the past 50 seasons with a walk-o! hit against the Dodgers in the 12th inning or later.
