Family Day

Earlier this year the Giants’ players had a chance to share AT&T Park with their loved ones.  Families were invited to pose for portraits and play a softball game before the Giants took on the Dodgers.

DIGGING THE DESERT…OF Hunter Pence went 3 for-4 with a home run and a double in the Giants’ 8-2 win over the Diamondbacks yesterday… that lifted Pence’s career batting average at Chase to .364, which now gives him the second-highest average for any visiting player in the history of that park, behind James Loney’s .378 clip (Elias).

FEW GIANTS IN THE 20-20 CLUB…Pence would become the first Giants player to hit
20+ homers and steal 20+ bases in a season since Barry Bonds did so in 1998 (37 HRs,
28 steals)…only six Giants in SF-era history have accomplished this feat: Bobby Bonds, Barry Bonds (six times), Willie Mays, Jeffrey Leonard, Glenallen Hill and Orlando Cepeda.
