FIVE-GAME HOMESTAND STARTS TONIGHT… The Giants will begin a ! ve-game homestand tonight, with two games against the A’s and then a three-game series against the D-Backs that will conclude the first half…after going 22-9 in their ! rst 31 home games, the Giants have really struggled at AT&T Park as of late, winning just three of their past 17 games.

TONIGHT’S PITCHING MATCHUP… RHP Matt Cain (1-7, 4.27) has gone 0-4 with a 4.65 ERA over his last seven starts and will be seeking his first win since May 15…Cain has gone 3-5 with a 2.11 ERA in 10 career starts against the A’s…RHP Jason Hammel (0-0, -.–) will be making his A’s debut after being traded by the Cubs last Friday…Hammel is 0-2 with a 3.14 ERA in eight career starts against the Giants and will be facing them for the first time since 2011.

Play Ball Lunch

To kick off the 2014 season, the San Francisco Giants and Manager Bruce Bochy, Giants broadcasters, alumni and executives joined over 1,000 fans at the Giants Community Fund’s annual Play Ball Lunch presented by Blue Shield of California. 2014 marks the 20th anniversary of Junior Giants, the flagship program of the Giants Community Fund. The entire 2014 Giants team was in attendance.  A select number of Junior Giants players from local leagues had the opportunity to sit with a Giants player or coach during the luncheon.
