On July 2, 1954 Ray Monzant became the first player from Venezuela to play for the Giants when he started the game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. This year the Giants have 9 players and 1 coach representing the South American country.

There’s a lot that goes on during Spring Training, but everything is done as a team. It may be stretching, going over the finer points of catching, taking BP, throwing, or even picking up baseballs; learning how to work together is just as important as everything else.
