The Giants have 10 uniformed personal from Venezuela on the field this season (shown here with a gravity-defying Greek): Yusmeiro Petit, Hector Sanchez, Ehire Adrianza, Jose Alguacil, Gregor Blanco, Pablo Sandoval, Guillermo Moscoso, Marco Scutaro and Jean Machi (Caracas native, Jose Mijares not pictured and George Kontos elevating)

On July 2, 1954 Ray Monzant became the first player from Venezuela to play for the Giants when he started the game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.  This year the Giants have 9 players and 1 coach representing the South American country.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK…RHP Kyle Crick was named California League Pitcher of the Week yesterday for the week ending on Sept. 2…in Crick’s start against Visalia last Thursday, he matched a career-high with 11 strikeouts, as he tossed 7.0-scoreless innings in San Jose’s 11-1 victory.
