TONIGHT’S GAME…The San Francisco Giants visit the San Diego Padres in the 1st game of this 3-game series…Giants’ right-hander Matt Cain (11-5, 2.99) will face Padres’ right-hander Ross Ohlendorf (4-3, 6.41).
ROAD WARRIORS…Bruce Bochy and the Giants have posted the 5th-best road winning pct. in the NL this season, going 29-28 (.509)…since the All-Star break, the Giants have won 9 of their last 13 road games, outscoring opponents by a 93-44 margin.

ERIC HACKER… 29-year-old was recalled from triple-A Fresno prior to tonight’s game as he will be making his 2nd appearance with the Giants this season… Went 12-6 with a 3.95 ERA and 99 Ks in 24 starts for Fresno.
JUSTIN CHRISTIAN… Was batting .343 (104-for-303) with 7 HRs and 35 RBI in 72 games for the Grizzlies… Was leading the PCL with 91 hits and was pacing Grizzlies with 29 multi-hit games prior to 1st call-up.
GIANTS ON REHAB ASSIGNMENTS…RHP Shane Loux (re-occuring neck strain) began a rehab assignment with triple-A Fresno on Tuesday night and tossed 1.0-scoreless inning of relief in 1 outing.
GIANTS ON REHAB ASSIGNMENTS… RHP Guillermo Mota (serving suspension) also started a rehab assignment Tuesday with rookie level Arizona…he’s allowed 7 runs on 8 hits in just 2.2 innings in 2 games.
The Newest Giant
Hunter Pence has been spotted at AT&T Park. The newest Giant arrived tonight just after the game ended and quickly did some interviews and signed autographs before heading into the clubhouse.
*Update: Pence put on his Giants uniform today, took batting practice and started the game in right field, batting fifth.
