LAST NIGHT’S SHUTOUT…SF’s 15-0 blanking last night was the club’s 2nd-largest shut out victory in SF-era history behind an 18-0 shutout of the Expos on May 24, 2000 at AT&T Park…it also matched the Giants’ largest margin of victory in a road shutout in franchise history, with the other coming April 30, 1918 at Philadelphia (15-0) (Elias).

Double x3

Marco Scutaro hit his 3rd career Grand Slam in the 9th inning

This is the third time during this road trip the Giants have scored double digits!  Furthermore, tonight the Giants recorded the largest shutout vs. the Cardinals in our franchise history (the previous record was 11-0 on June 27, 1894, yes that was 1894).  If that isn’t enough, tonight was the largest shutout victory over a defending World Series Champion since 1926.  Oh yeah, Last time the Giants shut out a team with 15-or-more runs was a game vs. the Montreal Expos on May 24, 2000 when the Giants won 18-0.  Not to be outdone, Marco Scutaro now has the most RBIs for the Giants this season (7) and Ryan Vogelsong’s ERA is 2.27.
