It was a busy day here at AT&T Park. Earlier today the Dugout Store at 2nd and King had it’s grand opening, a couple thousand kids participated in the Pony League Parade and Q&A with the Giants, and the Jr. Giants Commissioner’s received awards during the Commissioner’s Meeting – oh yeah, there was also a baseball game.
The parade route ended at City Hall, where players and broadcasters spoke and Tony Bennett gave a performance of “I Left my Heart in San Francisco” to conclude an incredible day.
With the National League Division Series starting tomorrow and the Giants hosting the Reds for games 1 and 2, its time to get ready! AT&T Park has been decorated with festive bunting and the field is painted with the 2012 MLB Postseason logo. Fans came to the park today for a rally and heard a live broadcast of KNBR featuring Sergio Romo, J.T. Snow, Mike Krukow and Renel.
In honor of the 2002 Team Reunion coming up on July 1 we wanted to look back at some of the great moments during the 2002 season. In August the SPCA brought some of their cats and dogs to the ballpark to do a photo shoot for the 2003 Giants/SF SPCA People and Pets Calendar. Everyone took part in a crazy day of shooting that went from 9:45 to 5:45 and consisted of:
- 28 pets running around the ballpark
- 31 great photos which were used in the calendar
- 40 players/coaches/Giants & SF SPCA employees getting the pets ready
- More dog and cat kisses than we could count
