TONIGHT’S GAME…The Giants kicked off a six-game, seven day homestand (Nationals, Rockies) yesterday with an 8-0 win against the Nationals…game two of this series will feature RHP Stephen Strasburg (2-5, 2.83) facing RHP Matt Cain (3-2, 5.43).

IT’S A SUCCESS…Ryan Vogelsong underwent successful surgery on his fractured right hand today at Stanford Hospital…the surgery was performed by Dr. Tim McAdams…Vogelsong is expected to miss the next four-six weeks.

TODAY’S ROSTER MOVES…The Giants have placed RHP Santiago Casilla and RHP Ryan Vogelsong on the 15-day disabled list today…IF Brett Pill (#6) and RHP Sandy Rosario (#43) have both been recalled from triple-A Fresno.

THE GIANTS…Snapped a three-game losing streak with last night’s win, but have still lost five of their last seven games and eight of their last 14…they enter tonight’s contest alone in second place in the NL West, 1.0 game behind first place Arizona.

Toronto is a beautiful city, and the view from the CN Tower is amazing, but everyone is happy to be heading back across the border tonight and will be ready to face the Rockies tomorrow at 5:40 PST.

PABLO SANDOVAL… Has homered in each of his last three games, the second time in his career to HR in three-straight… Is fifth in the NL with 48 hits, tied for sixth with 29 RBI and ranks eighth with a .316 avg.

SCUTARO STREAKING…IF Marco Scutaro went 3-for-5 last night to extend his season- high hitting streak to 13 games, tied for the longest active hit streak in the Majors with LAD’s Matt Kemp and MIN’s Joe Mauer.

MULTI-HIT MARCO…Scutaro has recorded a multi-hit game in each of his last seven contests, establishing a new career-high…the last Giant with seven-plus consecutive multi-hit games was Bengie Molina, who had a seven-game multi-hit streak (Stats, Inc.).

TONIGHT’S GAME… The Giants’ 10-game homestand continues tonight as they host the Atlanta Braves for the first of four games… RHP Julio Teheran (1-0, 5.08) is scheduled to face RHP Ryan Vogelsong (1-2, 7.20).

ANOTHER WALK-OFF…OF Andres Torres drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning in the Giants’ 4-3 victory over the Phillies yesterday…it was the fourth walkoff RBI for Torres in his big league career (all four of his walkoff hits were singles) (Elias).
