The Giants welcomed James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Lars Ulrich and Robert Trujillo for Metallica Night. Hetfield and Hammett performed the national anthem, Lars Ulrich threw the first pitch and Hetfield kicked off the game by saying “Play Ball”.

TODAY’S TRANSACTIONS…Prior to tonight’s game, the Giants have placed LHP Jeremy Affeldt on the 15-day disabled list (retro to April 15) with a right oblique strain…RHP JeanfMachi (#63) has been recalled from triple-A Fresno and is available for tonight’s game.
