WBC – Puerto Rico vs. Japan – Pregame Festivities

The final rounds of the World Baseball Classic got off to a great start tonight. A highlight of the pregame festivities was Orlando Cepeda bringing out the first pitch balls to the managers of the last 2 WBC tournaments winners.  The Giants on both sides of the Pacific were represented tonight, with Angel Pagan batting lead off for Puerto Rico and Sadaharu Oh throwing out the first pitch.  Tomorrow we can look forward to a couple more Giants one the field when BamBam Meulens brings his Netherlands team to AT&T Park to face Santiago Casilla with the Dominican Republic.

View Level Timeline – Part 2

In 2008, to celebrate our 50th anniversary in San Francisco  we installed a timeline on the View Level at the ballpark which highlighted some of our great players and amazing moments.  We know that all of our fans are not able to come to a game at the park, or those who do may not be old enough to remember some of our alumni.  For this road trip we decided to showcase the timeline and give everyone a bit more information about the moments.  These banners highlight everything from the 60s to the mid-80s.
