TONIGHT’S GAME…The Giants’ 10-game homestand continues tonight as they host the Philadelphia Phillies for the second of three games…RHP Kyle Kendrick (3-1, 2.43) is scheduled to face RHP Tim Lincecum (2-1, 4.41).
MUCH IMPROVED…Through their first 32 games, the Giants are hitting .284 (76-for-268) with runners in scoring position, the second-highest clip among NL teams behind St. Louis (.328)…last season the Giants hit .259 with RISP.

SERGIO ROMO… Is 12-for-13 overall in save chances this year, with his 12 rescues tied with PIT’s Jason Grilli for the most in the Majors.
JAVIER LOPEZ… Has allowed just one home run in 115.1 innings pitched in a Giants uniform, which ranks as the fewest in the NL since July 31, 2010.
CHAD GAUDIN… Tossed 2.0-scoreless inning last night, allowing just one hit with one K.
GREGOR BLANCO… Is 12-for-33 (.364) in his past 11 games, raising his avg. by 63 points.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILLIE!…A Giant happy birthday to Hall of Famer and Giants legend Willie Mays, who turns 82 years old today.

WINNING WAYS…This is the Giants’ longest win streak since they won a season-best six games last season from Sept. 17-22…the Giants haven’t won more than seven-straight games since an eight-game streak from Sept. 11-18, 2011.
JEAN MACHI… Has pitched extremely well since being recalled from triple-A Fresno on April 17…in eight appearances has tossed 10.0 innings, allowing one run on nine hits w/eight K’s. Right handed batters are 3-for-19 (.158) off him, while lefties are 6-for-18 (.333).
GUILLERMO QUIROZ… Started just his second game this season last night…has appeared in just 10 games overall.
MARCO SCUTARO… Has been the third hardest batter to strikeout in the NL, averaging 12.40 plate appearances per K.
HUNTER PENCE… The former Phillie will be facing his old team for the first time since being traded to the Giants at the trade deadline last season.

The Giants welcomed James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Lars Ulrich and Robert Trujillo for Metallica Night. Hetfield and Hammett performed the national anthem, Lars Ulrich threw the first pitch and Hetfield kicked off the game by saying “Play Ball”.

SEALING SAVES…RHP Sergio Romo enters tonight’s game tied with PIT’s Jason Grilli, BAL’s Jim Johnson and NYY’s Mariano Rivera for the Major League lead with 10 saves. Romo’s 10 saves are the second-most by a Giants pitcher in the season’s opening month (March/April) in SF-era history, behind Rod Beck’s 11 rescues in March/April of 1997.

Tony Bennett is always a fixture at AT&T Park, with “I Left my Heart in San Francisco” playing after every Giants win. He’s visited many times, with his Exploring the Arts Foundation and to sing to fans during playoff games. He even concluded the 2012 World Series Parade ceremony at City Hall with a live performance of the Giants’ victory song.
