TONIGHT’S GAME…The Giants’ 10-game homestand continues tonight as they host the Philadelphia Phillies for the second of three games…RHP Kyle Kendrick (3-1, 2.43) is scheduled to face RHP Tim Lincecum (2-1, 4.41).

MUCH IMPROVED…Through their first 32 games, the Giants are hitting .284 (76-for-268) with runners in scoring position, the second-highest clip among NL teams behind St. Louis (.328)…last season the Giants hit .259 with RISP.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WILLIE!…A Giant happy birthday to Hall of Famer and Giants legend Willie Mays, who turns 82 years old today.

WINNING WAYS…This is the Giants’ longest win streak since they won a season-best six games last season from Sept. 17-22…the Giants haven’t won more than seven-straight games since an eight-game streak from Sept. 11-18, 2011.

JEAN MACHI… Has pitched extremely well since being recalled from triple-A Fresno on April 17…in eight appearances has tossed 10.0 innings, allowing one run on nine hits w/eight K’s. Right handed batters are 3-for-19 (.158) off him, while lefties are 6-for-18 (.333).

GUILLERMO QUIROZ… Started just his second game this season last night…has appeared in just 10 games overall.

third and final game of this three game series and the last leg of this six-game road trip
that began in San Diego…RHP Brandon McCarthy (0-3, 7.48) is scheduled to face RHP
Tim Lincecum (2-1, 3.64).

SEALING SAVES…RHP Sergio Romo enters tonight’s game tied with PIT’s Jason Grilli, BAL’s Jim Johnson and NYY’s Mariano Rivera for the Major League lead with 10 saves. Romo’s 10 saves are the second-most by a Giants pitcher in the season’s opening month (March/April) in SF-era history, behind Rod Beck’s 11 rescues in March/April of 1997.

ROMO VS. ARIZONA…Romo has a 26 game scoreless streak against the D-backs, tossing 19.0-scoreless innings during this span, which dates back to Sept. 6, 2010.

SERGIO ROMO…Since taking over the closer’s role last season in late August, has been 19-for-20 in save opportunities while fashioning a 1.50 ERA (5er, 30.0ip) in 35 games.
