CLOSE CALLS… The Giants have played eight straight one run games, going 4-4…according to Elias, the last team to play eight straight one run games was the Twins from July 10-20, 2005…it’s also tied for the longest such streak in Giants franchise history (the New York Giants played eight consecutive games decided by one run from August 11-17, 1910).

ANOTHER WALK-OFF… For the second consecutive game, the Giants won last night in walk-off fashion as C Hector Sanchez drove in the winning run in the bottom of the 12th…according to ESPN Stats & Info, it’s the latest walk-off hit by a Giants player against the Dodgers in more than 10 years, and Sanchez became just the fifth Giant in the past 50 seasons with a walk-o! hit against the Dodgers in the 12th inning or later.

THAT WAS A LONG ONE… Last night’s 12-inning contest lasted four hours and 54 minutes, the second-longest game time between the Giants and Dodgers since 1987.

Tonight was a special night thought Major League Baseball as we honored the legacy of Jackie Robinson.  67 years ago today, Jackie Robinson broke into the Major Leagues with the Brooklyn Dodgers and broke the color barrier at Ebbets Field before a crowd of 26,623 spectators – aproximately 14,000 of whom were African-American.  For the game today, baseball families came together to remember his lasting legacy with every payer and coach wearing number 42 to celebrate the diversity and connectivity of our National Pastime.

ABOUT YESTERDAY… The Giants opened their 15th season at AT&T Park yesterday with a 7-3 victory over the Diamondbacks…yesterday’s win marked San Francisco’s sixth straight home opener victory, tied for their longest in franchise history.

BRANDON BELTING HOMERS… 1B Brandon Belt hit his fifth home run of the season yesterday to become the first Giant since Jose Cruz Jr. in 2003 to hit five home runs in the first eight games…Willie Mays is the only SF Giant to hit six-or-more home runs in the teams first nine games as he hit seven in the first nine games in 1964…1B Johnny Mize of the New York Giants hit six home runs in his team’s first nine games in 1947.

HUNTER PENCE… Already has three outfield assists, one more than he had all of last year.

LEADING THE WAY… OF Angel Pagan has hit safely in the first eight games on the year (15-for-34, .441)…since returning to the Giants lineup last season on Aug. 30 after injuring his left hamstring, Pagan has hit .354 (45-for-127) in 33 games, with the club going 20-13 in that span.

TODAY’S GAME… The San Francisco Giants’ seven-game road trip continues with the second stop here in Los Angeles this weekend for a three-game series that starts today…RHP Ryan Vogelsong (2013: 4-6, 5.73) is slated to face Dodgers’ LHP Hyun-Jin Ryu (1-0, 0.00).


THE GIANTS.. Are coming off a four-game series against the D-Backs where they took three of four games, outscoring them by a 23-18 margin…it marked the Giants’ fifth-consecutive series win at Chase Field.


BRANDON HICKS… Homered in his first at-bat as a Giant yesterday off RHP Josh Collmenter.


BELTING HOME RUNS… Brandon Belt has homered in three of the first four games this season…he joins Barry Bonds (2002), Kevin Mitchell (1991) and Willie Mays (1962, 1964, 1971) as the only Giants to homer at least three times in the first four games of the season.
